Running the chaotic emergency room of Berlin’s toughest, most overcrowded hospital is no small feat for Dr Parker. After her private life implodes in Munich, the young physician heads to the capital in search of a fresh start. Yet her very first attempt to introduce much-needed reforms meets fierce resistance from a chronically underpaid, utterly exhausted staff who survive their shifts on a steady dose of pitch-black humour.
